Running in minutes, on your own machine.

You need Docker with Compose and an email address. Everything else is in the download.

  1. Get your Community licence

    Ask for one with your email address and it arrives by email, as a file and as a text block. It's free, never expires, and works on every install you run.

    Get a Community licence
  2. Start the server

    With the compose bundle

    Download the compose bundle from the latest release, unzip it, copy .env.example to .env, then in that folder:

    terminal
    $ docker compose up -d
    $ docker compose logs reportd | grep setupCode

    With docker run

    One container, with a named volume for its data:

    terminal
    $ docker run -d -p 43123:43123 -v reports:/data \
        ghcr.io/frontforge-corporation/report-server:latest
  3. Open the setup wizard

    Go to http://localhost:43123 and enter the setup code from the log. The wizard creates your administrator account, asks for the licence and writes the first settings.

  4. Make your first report

    Start from one of the examples, or from a blank page. An example you copy in counts as one of Community's five templates; the gallery itself doesn't.
